Some of the players have turned the game into a professional so it is very hard for someone to beat them in a tournament. The only requirement for someone to participate in the games is for them to pay a certain fee. There is always a rise in the number of entries in each of the tournaments. Play station 3 is the console used. It is used as a leveling field for the competitors.

The games that are not offered by the Play station are played using the machine that features them. If the event is on live, then the competitors are issued with equipment from the organizers. Some of the games in the line ups are offered as different tournaments. This is mostly for those games that have equipment that comes in series. Each of the tournaments has its own map. There are those games that have intricate features to their name. Others make use of one on one scenario for the levels that involve fighting. In such cases, most of the players find it easier to use the original version of the game. The game recently introduced real time strategy into the tournament. These games have proven to be big hits in other countries. The games come with good support system that make it possible for two players to compete. The tournaments that take place involve various games. Most of the games that have evolved versions have various tournaments allocated to them. With every year, there is usually a new tournament meant to cater for the sequel of an existing game.

Most of these games are not given publicity. This is the reason why most people are yet to hear about them. The games have grown over the years to offer cash prizes of up to half a million dollars to the last man standing.

The ps3 league just like any other sport penalizes a player when they are caught cheating. It is a bit hard for a person to clearly define what constitutes as cheating when it comes to such games. Manipulation of a game to favor a particular player is definitely considered as cheating.

PS3 League - Games, Leagues And Matches

Major League Gaming is one of many popular video gaming leagues, though it is one of the few that focuses on a PS3 league. It allows many gamers to put their gaming skill towards a more productive end rather than mere entertainment and distraction. Gaming leagues feature large sums of prize money or items and can be a very lucrative industry for those willing to work a little. Of course, competitors need to beat not only dozens upon dozens of other competitors who've been practicing, but also the reigning champions who make a living from such games. The only requirement from players is that they pay the entry fee, then the rest is up to them.

Major League Gaming

Major League Gaming (MLG) is one of the primary leagues available to players all over the world. Founded in 2002, they're bigger than most other leagues and host events throughout the world, allowing individuals to watch live games between competitors. For everything else, you can participate or watch online as the challengers and champions compete through some of the most competitive games available. Hosting between four and six game tournaments annually, Major League Gaming provides something for everybody. Major League Gaming enforces a Playstation 3-only rule for games that stretch across multiple platforms. This ensures a level of standardization and is only broken when a game tournament features a title that is exclusive to a different console, such as Gears of War and its sequel. For live events, the present competitors are provided with all of the equipment they need and here are the latest tournaments available from MLG.

The Game Lineup

The Halo series made its debut back with Halo: Combat Evolved, which was used in the earliest MLG tournaments. Today, both Halo 3 and Halo: Reach have their own tournaments featuring four versus four team battles on varying maps. It provides high-intensity, twitch-based gameplay in a first-person shooter (FPS) format. Joining these two games comes the venerable Call of Duty series. Starting off with Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 is the current Call of Duty game on show. It features similar gameplay to Halo, but in a more realistic setting and somewhat more depth.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Tekken 6 complete the fighting game section, utilizing one on one scenarios. The former game has been around, albeit in an earlier form, since the beginning tournaments and is a favorite of the veterans. Tekken 6 is brand new and hasn't been on show in any form in a MLG tournament before.

The first real-time strategy game to be in any of Major League Gaming's tournaments, Starcraft II won't disappoint. A booming success in Korea, both its predecessor and the newly released sequel are created by the venerable Blizzard. It has excellent support for competitive gameplay and this will be no different.

Ps3 tournaments have featured the long-running World of Warcraft, Gears of War, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas and it's sequel, Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, Shadowrun, Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Generally competitors don't crossover to different games and only compete within their own tournaments yearly. Next year is likely to see some newer games, including the next Call of Duty: Black Ops.
